Univera is using Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate in Xtra® as preservatives for preventing microbial growth. These substances are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) when used in accordance with good manufacturing or feeding practice.
Yes, Xtra® is still safe to consume even if flaking residue is present. This occurs because Univestin, one of our key ingredients, does not completely dissolve in water, which can cause flakes to form over time. We recommend discarding the residue or using a strainer when pouring the remaining liquid from the bottle.

But I do have a suggestion change the cap on the bottle please! You when shake it before its even opened, it drips down the side and gets messy, other than that great product.
